Italy Market Development Lead

We are looking for an Italian skincare geek to help us build Geek & Gorgeous in Italy. 🇼đŸ‡č💛

We’re looking for someone who knows the Italian beauty market really well, understands and loves G&G, and would be excited to take ownership of helping us grow the brand in Italy.

Your mission is quite simple to describe (even if achieving it isn’t 😊): help us make Geek & Gorgeous a successful and well-known skincare brand in Italy.

What you’ll be doing

Helping us understand the Italian market

We want you to become our go-to person for Italy.

You’ll help us understand the Italian skincare market, our competitors, retailers, creators, trends and consumers, and identify opportunities for Geek & Gorgeous that we might otherwise miss from our home market, Hungary.

We’d love you to bring ideas, challenge our assumptions, and help us understand what works specifically in Italy, while we’ll share what we’ve learned and what has worked for us in other markets.

Building our creator network

Creators will be an important part of building G&G in Italy.

You’ll identify Italian skincare creators who could be a great fit for Geek & Gorgeous, build genuine relationships with them and help us develop both organic and paid collaborations.

We care especially about finding creators who genuinely like our products and whose audiences trust their skincare recommendations, not simply the people with the largest follower counts.

You’ll work closely with our wider marketing team and our Creator & Influencer Partnerships Lead on this.

Helping us grow retail

You’ll help us identify the right retail partners for Geek & Gorgeous in Italy and support the development of those relationships.

That can mean researching potential retailers, understanding their positioning and skincare assortment, helping us prepare for conversations, developing relationships and supporting ongoing partnerships.

As our Italian retail presence grows, you’ll also help us think about how we can support our retail partners and make G&G successful in their stores.

Building awareness of Geek & Gorgeous

You’ll help us figure out how to make more Italian skincare consumers discover, understand and ultimately try Geek & Gorgeous.

That could involve creators, social media, PR, retail activations, partnerships, events or ideas we haven’t thought of yet.

We’re not looking for someone who simply executes campaigns. We want someone who is curious about what could move the needle for G&G in Italy and is willing to test ideas and learn from what happens.

Who we’re looking for

We think you could be a great fit if:

  • You are based in Italy and have an excellent understanding of Italian culture and the Italian beauty market.

  • Your Italian is native or near-native, and your English is excellent.

  • You already know Geek & Gorgeous and genuinely like what we’re doing.

  • You are passionate about skincare and understand the science-based approach behind G&G.

  • You are an excellent communicator and naturally good at building relationships.

  • You have strong commercial judgment and enjoy thinking about how to grow a business.

  • You are proactive, resourceful and comfortable figuring things out rather than waiting for detailed instructions.

  • You are organized and can take an idea from “we should probably do this” to actually making it happen.

  • You enjoy working in a small, fast-growing company where you can have a lot of ownership and where your work can make a real difference.

Previous experience in beauty, skincare, marketing, creator partnerships, retail, sales or business development would definitely be useful, but we’re open-minded about your exact background.

For us, knowing the Italian market, having great judgment and communication skills, being proactive and genuinely understanding Geek & Gorgeous may matter more than having exactly the “right” job title on your CV.

About the role

This is a full-time, remote position based in Italy, with occasional travel within Italy for retailer meetings, events and other opportunities, as well as occasional trips to Budapest to spend time with the wider G&G team.

You’ll work closely with the founders and our marketing and commercial teams, while becoming the person within G&G who knows the Italian market best.

This is a role with a lot of freedom and responsibility. We want you to be close to what is happening in Italy, spot opportunities we might not see from Budapest, and take real ownership of helping Geek & Gorgeous grow in the market.
